Aligna

Aligna™ Precision-Engineered Stainless Steel Hinges

Better alignment from the start. Greater stability for the life of the vehicle.

A hinge may appear to be a simple component, but its quality has a direct effect on how well a vehicle door fits, closes and continues to perform.

Poorly controlled hinge tolerances can force builders to angle or reposition hinges to compensate for misalignment. As the vehicle enters service, movement within the hinge can contribute to door sag, inconsistent shut lines, difficult operation and premature wear elsewhere in the door system.

The Stedall Aligna™ range has been developed to provide a better-engineered solution.

Precision manufacturing and minimised tolerances help the hinge leaves remain properly aligned, allowing doors to be installed accurately without the compromises commonly needed with conventional low-profile hinges. The result is a cleaner build, more consistent door positioning and greater long-term stability.

Engineered to resist door sag

Commercial and specialist vehicle doors place significant lateral loads on their hinges. Every opening, closing and vehicle movement applies forces that can gradually introduce play into an ordinary hinge.

Aligna™ uses advanced leaf-welding technology to create strong, continuous and gap-free joints between the hinge leaves and knuckle. This improves structural integrity and can increase lateral-load capability by up to three times, helping the hinge resist movement that could otherwise allow the door to drop out of alignment.

For the vehicle builder, that means fewer installation compromises. For the operator, it means doors that remain easier to use and properly aligned for longer.

Built from 304 stainless steel

Aligna™ hinge blades and pins are manufactured from premium 304 stainless steel, providing excellent corrosion resistance for demanding vehicle and enclosure applications.

Capped hinge pins add strength and security, while the carefully controlled construction provides dependable operation without routine hinge maintenance.

The low-profile design also produces a clean, professional appearance that complements modern vehicle bodywork.

Small component. Significant difference.

A lower-cost hinge may save a small amount at the point of purchase, but poor alignment can create much greater costs during vehicle assembly and throughout its working life.

Time spent adjusting a door, correcting uneven shut lines or dealing with premature movement quickly outweighs the initial saving. Misaligned doors can also affect seals, locks and surrounding bodywork, turning one compromised component into a wider service problem.

Aligna™ is designed around whole-life performance. It helps bodybuilders achieve a better fit during production and helps operators retain reliable door function in service.

For commercial vehicles, emergency vehicles, utility bodies, trailers and specialist enclosures, Aligna™ provides the strength, accuracy and durability that a frequently used door deserves.
